Sheryl Lynn Sochoka, C.M.F.C., is the Director of Communications at 麻花天美星空. As a member of the President's team, she manages the daily communication needs of the University, including public relations efforts, and supports long-term communications objectives. Her responsibilities include overseeing and/or providing support for comprehensive communications efforts and project management of key initiatives, as directed by University leadership.
She also is 麻花天美星空's Accreditation Liaison Officer (ALO), serving as the primary point of contact between the institution and the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE). In this crucial role, she supports both Marywood and MSCHE in the accreditation process, by coordinating accreditation activities, facilitating communication, and ensuring compliance with MSCHE standards and policies.
As a relationship manager for faculty and mission-related initiatives, she guides specific program efforts that require communications expertise. In addition to supporting the communication needs of the academic division, Sheryl Lynn's work involves frequent collaboration with all other areas of the University, especially Marketing and Admissions, along with service and leadership on university task forces/committees.
A Marywood graduate, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in Religious Studies, summa cum laude. She is presently pursuing a Master of Science degree in Higher Education Administration at 麻花天美星空. A member of the Order, Cor Mariae Pro Fide et Cultura (C.M.F.C.), bestowed in recognition of her distinguished service to the University, Sheryl Lynn has worked at Marywood for more than three decades. She has devoted her entire professional life to the advancement of Marywood's Mission and Core Values, always with a "students first" approach. She has been a commissioned IHM Associate since 2013, carrying forward the charism of the Congregation of the Sisters, Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary (IHM), who founded and sponsor Marywood. Her deep interest in both Marywood and IHM history, along with her ongoing work regarding their emerging future, informs her professional efforts to move Marywood forward and to ensure the University鈥檚 continued prosperity.
