Research Interests
Dr. Badner鈥檚 research interests include best practices that promote excellence in gifted education and assessment; soft skill development and working effectively with collaborative teams; school-wide implementation of self-regulation curriculums; development of trauma sensitive schools and practice; Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS); and Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS).
As a licensed psychologist and certified school psychologist, Dr. Badner has worked as a direct service provider, administrator, and program developer, across multiple and diverse settings in both mental health and public education and has supervised professional staff at bachelor鈥檚, master鈥檚, and doctoral levels. As an educator, Dr. Badner taught in both undergraduate and graduate settings before arriving at Marywood in March 2020, including doctoral programs in both clinical and school psychology.
As a PA school psychologist, Dr. Badner has worked in both Intermediate Unit and District settings with a wide range of general education and special education students and their families, educators, administrators, and related service professionals; and currently serves on two advisory committees for the Pennsylvania Department of Education to help develop equitable screening and evaluation processes in gifted education and update program framework guidelines for Pre-K to 12 School Psychologist certification.
