Research Interests
Dr. Banull’s research interests focus on best practices in family involvement in children's education, particularly in helping families understand their role from an early age. Her work also explores the impact of socioeconomic status, cultural differences, and parental education levels on child development; the differences between authoritative and authoritarian parenting styles; and effective practices in virtual education for K–12 students.
As an educator, Dr. Banull has taught in both undergraduate and graduate settings, including doctoral programs in clinical forensic psychology and undergraduate programs in psychology, prior to joining Â黨ÌìÃÀÐÇ¿Õ in August 2023.
As a Pennsylvania-certified school psychologist, Dr. Banull spent 19 years working in traditional brick-and-mortar schools, collaborating with general and special education students, their families, educators, administrators, and related service professionals. For the past two years, she has served as a virtual school psychologist, reviewing evaluations conducted by colleagues and participating in evaluation and IEP meetings to help families understand assessment data.
