This one-day experience is designed to give you a head start by connecting you with faculty, staff, and fellow Pacers in your academic discipline. You'll receive your course schedule, attend informative presentations, and complete essential paperwork—all in one place! 

Engage with academic support services, explore career development opportunities, and learn about the resources available to help you thrive. Plus, parents/supporters will gain valuable insights on how to best guide their Pacers through this transition. No matter which date you pick, Pacer Priorities Day ensures you’re set up for success.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is the program?

  • Check in will begin at 9:00 am with the program officially starting at 10:00 am. The official program will end at approximately 2:30 pm with optional campus tours and office “drop ins” available until 4:30 pm)

Are children allowed?

  • Of course. We do not have a program geared toward our Little Pacers so they would need to stay with those attending the supporter program. 

Is there something for parents/guardians?

  • We do have a supporter program that is open to parents, guardians, supporters and friends. We do ask that students embark on their sessions alone so that they can take full advantage of getting to know their fellow Pacers and campus community.

Do I have to stay the entire time?

  • Every aspect of the day is important so we do ask that you schedule yourself to be present the entire day. 

Where is parking?

Are meals provided during the day?

  • Lunch is provided to you. Please make sure when you register that you share if you have any dietary accommodations so that we can be prepared for you to enjoy the best meal possible.

From move-in day festivities and class photo traditions to dynamic social events and essential academic sessions, this multi-day orientation is packed with opportunities to discover, connect, and thrive

Engage with resources, meet fellow Pacers at fun activities, find the exact locations of your classrooms, and get excited for day one of your college experience. Whether you’re a first-generation student, a transfer, a resident, or a commuter, you’ll find your place in our welcoming community. 

Expect lawn games, outdoor parties, lots of laughter, and great times, all while preparing for a strong academic start. And before school starts - we might even take a fun off-campus adventure!

Residential Students

Frequently asked questions

How long is the program?

  • This is a multi-day program beginning officially at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, August 20. There will be required and non-required programming every day (Wednesday - Sunday) of the extended orientation. An official schedule will be sent closer to the orientation dates. 

What if I am a commuter student?

  • Commuter students are asked to participate in each program. The official commuter student check-in will take place at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, August 20. It is asked that commuters join us on campus each day, it will be worth the drive. 

Is there something for parents/guardians?

  • Pacer supporters are invited to our dinner on Wednesday (August 20) from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm. (Make sure your Pacer registers you when they register for orientation.) 

What if I am a pre-season athlete? 

  • The orientation team works closely with Coaches to ensure athletes get both a positive experience with their sport and orientation.  

Are meals provided during the week?

  • Yes, those with meal plans will be able to access the dining options based on your plan. As well, those without meal plans, can obtain a meal pass through the Orientation team.

  • Unfortunately, there is no formal program for Pacer supporters during graduate orientation.  

Is orientation required?

  • While we hope everyone can attend this important program, we understand there are conflicts that may cause you to not attend.
